WDYT of the name Ruiz for a boy?

Kyle: That's not being nice! That's just putting on a nice sweater!

It's a surname to me, and harsh and ugly. Sorry.

To me it's a last name. I know to many with that as a last to be able to use it as a first.

I went to school with a boy whose last name was Ruiz, so to me it's a last name.

Apparently, it's either:"Derived from the Old English word "geong," meaning "ruiz," this surname was used as a descriptive name to distinguish father from son or to the ruizer of two relatives with the same first name (similar to the usage of Junior)."or:"RUIZ: descendant of Ruy or Rodrigo"It was the surname of my favourite character in Crash - I just thought it sounded kind of nice as a FN. :-)
