I should like this name. I should really like this name.
It's not that I have trouble saying it, I don't. It's not that Rory is a boy's name, I have a soft spot for Georgia-called-George, Frances-called-Frankie, Wilhelmina-called-Billie, &c. It's not that I associate it with a highway (which apparently it is?). It's a perfectly fine name.
But I absolutly detest it. Sorry. I think it just feels a bit "precious" to me. Don't know why- I'm fine with giving kids the names of goddesses, like Minerva, or nature names like Poppy or Ginger. But Aurora sounds inescapably Faery-Not-Fairy Princess to me. And I don't particularly like the sound. It's bland, even though it's pretty. Just sounds like noise.
Sorry if that came out really rude, I'm just musing trying to figure out why I hate this name so much- I always have.
