I know a little Sofia Arwen, which I think is very pretty.
How about one of these...Elizabeth Arwen (or does this sound too much like Elizabeth Arden?)
Mary Arwen
Clare Arwen
Isabella Arwen
Lily Arwen
Susannah Arwen
Julia Arwen
Iris Arwen
Beatrice Arwen
Cordelia Arwen

Well this was hard. All I could think was:Cate Arwen
Elaine Arwen
Laura Arwen
Lorraine Arwen (too many 'r's?)
Susannah Arwen
Valerie Arwen

So here's my issue: I love, love, love the sound of this name. I think it sounds magical, classy, spunky and strong all at the same time. I also love the meaning. But I strongly dislike the way it looks. I have this weird aversion to names w/ 'w's in them. I hate the way they look! Like Tawny, love the sound hate the spelling and for that reason would never use it. Gwen is another one, as is Gwenyth. I thought about going the Guinevere route and using a spelling of Aruen but that looks insanely silly to me and I know will be mispronounced like crazy. :( That aside, going on sound only, I like:Natalie Arwen
Marissa Arwen
Marinda Arwen (double 'a's too much?)
Kelsey Arwen
Isobel ArwenArwen Augusta
Arwen Claire
Arwen Marisol
Arwen Jade

I think Arwen looks pretty, but I get what you mean about names just looking wierd, even though you like the way they sound. I can't think of any examples for me right now, but I know they're out there.I'm glad that Arwen would be used as a mn though since it's from LotR. If she gets older and doesn't like such things, she might really dislike her name. If it's just a middle name, it's not so bad if that were to happen. Like if you name your kid Skywalker (yes, my boss did) they'd better like Star Wars!

Arwen is one of my favorite girls' names!i would use it as a first name though. i know about the whole lotr reference, but it's just so beautiful! i can't get over it! some combos i'd use (with Arwen as a first name, of course) are:Arwen Demeter
Arwen Fae (one of my favorites)
Arwen Ginevra
Arwen Gwenevere
Arwen Juliet
Arwen Kerensa
Arwen Lily or Lily Arwen
Arwen Liv (pronounced Leev)
Arwen Persephone (another personal favorites)
Arwen Thaisi hope i was helpful, even though i pretty much did it backwards. i just can't get over how beautiful the name is! you can always mix/match them as much as you'd like.
