[Opinions] Second thoughts, + Hawaiian names
For a while now, I've been having second thoughts about using Caitlin (Craig's must-have girls name), mainly because of the -lin ending clashes with the Win- beginning of the surname. I havent mentioned this to Craig because we havent talked about names in a while. However, now I am also having second thoughts about Miles (his must-use boys name). I like it, but word names have always gotten to me, and I guess it was just a matter of time before that caught up with me. We both like Lucas though, and he does like Miles Lucas as a combo, so wdty of Lucas Miles? Just as good? We like a lot of boy names, but he has always said "I will use Miles", so I'd like to find a compromise.
Also, wdyt of these Hawaiian names? Any of them you feel wouldnt work for whatever reason, any you love?Ailani (ah-ee-law-nee): High chief
Alana (ah-law-nah): awakening
Aolani (a-oh-law-nee): A heavenly cloud
Hawika (hah-vee-ka): beloved
Hiwalani (he-wah-law-nee): the attractive one

Leilani (lay-lah-nee): Heavenly lei; royal child
Luana (loo-on-ah): Content; Happy
Maka (mah-kah): favorite one
Makaha (mah-kah-hah): fierce, ferocious, savage
Makani (mah-kah-nee): Wind
Malana (mah-law-nah): calming, soothing
Malie (mah-lee-ee): Calm (I also like Malia)
Meli (meh-lee): honey
Miliani (me-lee-on-nee): gentle carress

I love Noelani & Iolana.I think Lucas Miles is completely acceptable. It's good that you're trying to compromise, but remember these will be your children too. I'm not big on Caitlin, either.

I prefer Miles Lucas because with Lucas Miles, I hear Luca Smiles. Maybe it's just me.Hawaiian names are so pretty and make such a soft sound. I like:Alana
Iolana
Kaila
Kalani -- really nice one
Kalea
Keilani
Lana
Lea
Leilani
Malana
Malie -- I see this one being mispronounced as Mally.
Noelani
Maile -- I see this one being mispronounced too though it is pretty.I'm not overly familiar with Hawaiian names and about the only thing I know about them is that every vowel is pronounced. Having said that, the names do tend to run together in my mind but I think that's because I don't hear and haven't heard them often. They have such a beautiful sound. Oh, I like Malia too.I think my favorites would be Malia, Kalani, Leilani and Noelani.

Well...When you mentioned "Luca Smiles" I thought of the fact Craig thinks "smiles" would be a good nn for Miles. So, maybe its not a horrible thing?I tend to agree with your comments on Hawaiian names. I think its hard because they aren't very heard of and pn can be a problem.

Lucas Miles = just as good :)I like:
Iolana
Luana
Makaha (great meaning)
PonoHawaiian names are hard because I hate the sound ah-nee and I hate -nee and I hate ah-. So.

Ooooohhhhh I get itIt took me forever to figure out what you were talking about when you said that Miles was a word name. 90% of the comments I get about my name have something to do with Miles Davis, which I don't mind because he is my namesake. Every now and again I'll get a "Miles down the road" comment, but those don't really bother me either.

Caitlin is nice but I prefer Katelyn. You could always use similar names like Catarina maybe? Also what about Kaylee? Another idea, you could use a nn for Caitlin like Catie, Cait, or Cate.Miles is nms. Lucas however, I adore. I think Lucas Miles would be nice, it flows better than Miles Lucas imo. Also, if you're not big on Miles you could try it as a nn, for Michael or something?I like:
Alana
Kalea
Lana
Lea - prefer Leia
Malie
Malia
Noelani
MaileBut Malie, Malia, and Maile might clash with Miles. What about Amalia?
