[Opinions] Jezebel
Thank you, poetic freedom.
My name is Jezabel.
I am proud of it. I like it.
Hey, not every Jezebel is eeevil.
Not every Mary is a virgin.

true not ever Jezebel is what Jezebel was, but the connections are still heavily associated with it. Glad you like your name though.

I love the way the name sounds and I would probably use it but the associations...oh, the associations! I couldn't use it. It's a cool name though, I'm not gonna lie.

DittoI love it too - it's in my top ten. But I think my mom would kill me if I named a daughter Jezebel. XD

No probsI love your name too and the Jezebel of history was not really as she was represented in the Bible. You are named after a woman who was way ahead of her time

*chuckles*Love that! "Not every Mary is a virgin." :oPI'm actually surprised that Jezebel hasn't caught on more...it does have that -bel ending that's pretty popular. I personally could get over the association, but I just don't like the z sound in the middle of names. Nope, I don't like Elizabeth, either! ;o) If it were Jesabel, I'd totally love it. :o)

I think because Mary is so common, we don't think of the Virgin Mary whenever we hear the name. I do, because I am Catholic and Mary is very important to us. However, Jezebel is a LOT less common, and therefore, we (okay, I speak for myself only I guess) think of the only time I've heard it used before.

I do not like Jezebel, but it has nothing to do with the biblical/historical associations.

Actually, I love Jezebel...(m)But the associations are too strong for most people. I also love Judas, but same story.

Jezebel and Judas are two of my faves.Mary, Joseph, Moses, and Adam are some of my least faves. Lilith is awesome, too.Course, I'm Agnostic, so I'm not being very objective, but...There's nothing wrong with the names. And don't even get me started on my interpretation of Judas's role. Even though I'm now Agnostic, I still feel strongly that he was a 'good' guy. Jeez, if he hadn't betrayed, Jesus wouldn't have been crucified, and everyone would go to Hell, right? So he did something good. So they can stop whining about him already.Of course, I don't believe it in the first place. But if I DID...

Darkest. My friend and I are Catholics, and we believe that Judas had a very special role. Without him Jesus wouldn't have been crucified. So we believe God gave him a special role for a reason, perhaps the most special role besides that of Jesus himself, and therefore he can't be a completely bad guy.I know this isn't the place for this, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.

And, there is the fact that Judas believed that he was doing the right thingThat he was allowing Christ to ascend. Check out the Book of Judas.
