It would work, like you say he'd fit in with current trends. But I don't like it. The connotations of "wild" aren't always the greatest thing in the world, and I don't like surnames used as fns unless they have real famiyl significance, and even then I prefer them as a mns. Never heard of Ville or Wille, but I would be inclined to say Ville like the french word for town. Wille I'm not so sure on how to approach, maybe like Wiley?
