[Opinions] Meade
I know a girl named Meade (she's 23ish), and I'd never heard it used as a first name before. I'm not a fan of the ln=fn thing at all, but for some reason I kind of like it. I wouldn't use it, but I just wondered what other people thought about it.
Also, I've been starting to like Bryn for a boy. Thoughts?

I like Meade, and am considering using it as a second name if my baby is a girl. My boyfriends sister has Meade as a second name and i also know a really cute 7 year old called Meade. It is a lovely name

When my mom was growing up, she lived in a little town called Meade (Kansas) for a while. That's what I immediately think of, rather than "surname" or "alcohol". ;)I dislike Meade as a first name, but if it had meaning for someone (e.g. it was a family surname) I think it would make a nice middle name in the right combo.I dislike Bryn.

And if it's a boy, will he be Ale?

I like Meade. I think it's different but definitely has a 'normal' enough sound for someone to pull off. I have a cousin Jenny Meade, so it probably appeals to me for sentimental reasons. I believe she was given it as a middle name because it was a close relative's surname. The association with her is also likely why I tend to think of it first as a female name.

It just makes me think of heavy beer. Not attractiive, and not feminine at all.

Meade makes me think of "mead". And Bryn really reminds me of brine.

It's not great, IMHO. And not only is it a ln, but it's also an alcohol. lolBryn's nice. Looks very refreshing.

Meade isn't horrible, but I don't generally like food names, especially alcoholic drinks.

A bit too much......Like naming a kid Beere or Ginne to me. Meade might be a perfectly good surname, but as a first name, it sounds ridiculous to me. But then, I do come from a state relatively well known for alcohol. ;)Bryn is one of those few names I see as really working on either sex. I like it on a boy a good deal--I used to have a male character by the name.Array
