I think Astrid is lovely. I don't get any real 'vision' in my head for it, but I like it regardless. Don't really have any ideas for nicknmaes - maybe Asty? Or you could make a nn from the first and middle names from the combo? (Eg. if you had Astrid Xanthe could maybe call her Trixie...'tri' from Astrid and 'x' from Xanthe...maybe that's taking it a little far but I think you get my drift!)
