[Opinions] Brytanie
I seen a girls name today. It is the step daughter of someone I know. I knew her step daughters name was Brittany but I didn't know till today that it was spelled Brytanie. I don't like kr8tive spellings. But what do you think of it?

Yeesh. On first glance, I want to say bry-tay-nee. :-/ Just a ridiculous spelling, imo. I saw a Leslie that was spelled Lezlye on "The Biggest Loser" the other day, and that was bad enough.
Oy gevalt!
Brittany is bad enough, but that is just horrendous!
Also, it looks like it should be pronounced "BRIE-tah-nee" (IE as in I, me, myself). Not BRIH-ta-nee. Ys are not an acceptable replacement for every vowel! Most vowels can sound somewhat similar (Alizabeth and Alivia actually would be pronounced the same as their correctly spelled counter-parts by me, for example), but "y"s don't do that! They make a very specific non-schwa sound. Ai yi yi.

ehhh.... I'm not a big fan of it, but I don't really like Brittany either.
I don't like Brittany at all, but spelled Brytanie I like it better. Makes me think more of Britain which I love on a boy. Brytany would be nice.
