Definitely Miranda
I love Miranda. It looks beautiful, it sounds beautiful, and I love the nicknames Mira and Miri.
Eliza really annoys me for some reason. It's both very hick and very pretentious and snobby at the same time. I think of both a country girl with no manners and a stuck-up, nasty girl who thinks she's better than everyone else because her parents are rich.

Ditto on Eliza, completely.
Miranda
I've never liked Eliza and it's probably my least favorite form of Elizabeth.

Definitly Eliza. I always have found Miranda ugly.
Eliza - It's a beautiful and classic name.
I've never liked Miranda...just something about the sound and overall *feel* of the name is unappealing to me.

Eliza. Hands down.
So much prettier. So many good connotations. Elegant sound. Very lovely name. Classic, feminine, and beautiful!

Miranda
I like Miranda. I find it aesthetically appealing and a name that's suited to both a child or an adult. It has a number of nickname possibilities, if that's someone's style, and it's not wildly popular but still not unusual, either.
Eliza is too something for me. Too yuppie, maybe. It strikes me as a name parents would choose to go a sibling Sebastian, and the idea of both together kind of makes my skin crawl. Its popularity on the boards reminds me of things like Wilhelmina and Maude--I wonder if people here like it because they're caught up in a board trend that leans toward it, or if it would have appeal to them otherwise. I've always thought it was quite ugly; the long "i" sound puts me off, among other things.

Your naming style is so your own that I wouldn't bother suspecting the origin of any of your likes. :-) Can't exactly picture you buying into a trend for the trend's sake!
Eliza; way more classic, respectable, and appealing.
How is Miranda less respectable?
I'm not getting that. Elaborate?

Ditto.
Eliza because it's just way more aesthetically pleasing.
Miranda. I've just never liked Eliza.
