[Opinions] Hazel
This is a new favourite that really came out of nowhere. Not sure why, but I'm really loving it right now.First things first, what do you think of Hazel?Any middle name suggestions for me?How do you think it sounds as little sister to Xanthe, August and Adelaide?Hazel or Delphine- which do you prefer with Xanthe, August and Adelaide? Why?And lastly, how do you feel about the (very) occasional nn Hazelnut?TIA guys.

First things first, what do you think of Hazel?
Back and forth on Hazel. Part of me thinks it's sweet, part of me thinks it's childish. I don't love it, but I don't dislike it by any means.Any middle name suggestions for me?
I don't at the moment, sorry. How do you think it sounds as little sister to Xanthe, August and Adelaide?
Back and forth again. On one hand, it sounds just as old fashioned, but it also (imo) feels to be lacking some of the same substance the others have.Hazel or Delphine- which do you prefer with Xanthe, August and Adelaide? Why?
Hazel is much softer than the other three, so it stands out a bit for that. However, Delphine repeats the "del" in Adelaide (not a particularly big problem, I love names with "del"), which may or not bother you. And lastly, how do you feel about the (very) occasional nn Hazelnut?
If Hazel were my daughter, rest assured Hazelnut would be much more than an occasional nn (she'd fit right in with my dd Adelaide nn Ladybug)! Its pretty cute for a little one, potentially embarrassing for an older child. I like it.

Hazel Johanna I don't get called Hazelnut that often except in my Spanish class where my teacher wanted everyone to have a Spanish name and gave me Avellana meaning Hazelnut.

Hazel is quirky, and nice. I prefer it to Delphine, but I'm not sure if it is the best fit.

I don't care for the sound of it. It has that hard AY sound that is so common in trendy names. That paired with the Z makes it sound very harsh to me. I want to like it; I love nature names. But I just can not get on board with this one. I don't like it at all.Delphine is one of my long time favorites. It's not even a contest between those two. :)

My great-grandmother's name was Hazel, and I happen to love it. I like it better than Delphine. I think it goes great with Xanthe, Adelaide, and August. Hazel Josephine
Hazel Beatrix
Hazel ClementineRegarding Hazelnut, would you believe DH and I actually were discussing the name Hazel sometimes aka Hazelnut as a hypothetical daughter? (Although hopefully our next child will be a son, because he really wants one, but I digress.) Anyway, thought it was an interesting coincidence. I don't think I could resist occasionally calling a little Hazel "Hazelnut." It's cute and kooky.

Hazel NoelleI think it sounds fine with the other names esp Xanthe.Probably Hazel more than Delphine but Adelaide already has the 'del' sound in it.I don't like Hazelnut as a nn.
