So the writing prompt for this round. You don’t have to do it, but it’s fun to see what kind of stories you guys make up. Anyway, you got married. Was it an arranged marriage, meant to prevent war or perhaps to strengthen an alliance? What is your wife’s country like? How did your nation react to the union? Also include anything else you feel like adding.

After a failed courtship with local countess and distant relative Lady Katarina Archibald that left Emperor Friedrich III fretting terribly over the question of succession more than ever, he has at last found someone he is happy to spend the rest of his life with and with whom he feels he can produce a solid heir.
The neighbouring flat, mostly agricultural country of Voralia's royal family had also had a negative experience with Lady Archibald. It was their own Prince Leo whom Lady Archibald had shunned in favour of Friedrich III of Auttenburg, only for her to leave him within a year for a minor noble (shocking!). The split between Prince Leo and Lady Archibald had almost caused war between Voralia and Auttenburg, and only Friedrich's emergency coach journey to meet with Voralia's King Felix VII in order to smooth things over quelled the tension between the two countries who had once been firm allies during the time of the Old Empire.
It was during his stay in Voralia that Friedrich III of Auttenburg was introduced by Prince Leo to his youger sister Princess Cassandra. He was immediately besotted with her, Cassandra's beauty and wit far surpassing that of any bachelorette he had yet courted. She was likewise taken with him. Almost exactly a year later, following his split with Lady Archibald, Friedrich invited Cassandra to the Celestial Palace, an invitation she excitedly accepted.
They were married to great celebration a few weeks later, with a massive feast being held for the populace of the capital Trefal within the palace grounds. King Felix VII and Queen Amelia of Voralia and the entire von Østergaard family attended the wedding service at the Imperial Silver Hall of Kasar. The people of Auttenburg are as enamoured of their new Queen Regent as Friedrich III was when he first met her.

Since it's based on old medieval royalties, only males can succeed the throne. For the sake of simplicity, do you think Emperor Friedrich could change the law back?

Once the Vivarians withdrew their occupation in 1121, the Cussians (Vivarian-influenced spelling) were left with a vacuum of power. Gradually, a feudal system emerged, along with an elaborate system of civil customs and constructs that give Cussia a distinct blend of tribal and Vivarian traditions. The King is the highest lord in the land. Under him are Lords, Dukes, Marquesses, Counts, Earls, and Barons. Serfs work the land and Knights fight for it. The religion, while it has many of the pagan characteristics of old Kosshan religions such as celebrating major feasts at the solstices, is nominally the same church of the Vivarians, and the clergy are part of the network of that church. Consequently, clergy are exempt from fiefdom and therefore from taxation.
The von Shriek family has been in power for about 350 years at this point. They got there by dynastic strategy: a von Shriek daughter married the only son of the Kasselmark heir. They make their residency in the capital city of Frienne, a walled city with a lovely lovely river in it.
Klaus's marriage with Anna Luisa was the result of a happy coincidence. The King's spiritual advisor Father Luigi had had a dream in which the Holy Spirit spoke to him of a beautiful maiden in Westphalia, a Cussian duchy. Also in which Malcolm's dad was elected homecoming queen and wore this gorgeous blue dress similar to the one Lily wore last year. Klaus, whose seven previous fiancees had all died in completely blameless accidents or sicknesses before he could marry them, had been convinced that his marriage prospects were cursed by God, so this vision intrigued him and he went to Westphalia immediately.

Emperor Nikolai's wife is from the country Loria which borders half of Chlebek. Her name is Maite Garden Osane d’Abatantuono and she is a baroness. She is 20 years old and stunningly pretty. She is known as "Gotzon" or "Angel" in Loria because of her good deeds and peaceful disposition. She was chosen out of 47 other girls to marry Nikolai. The Royal Council for Chlebek searched 7 of their surrounding countries to find a wife for him. After they were chosen, Nikolai and his parents spoke with each one of them for 15 minutes each. After they were finished Nikolai made his choice and his parents agreed.
The marriage followed Chlebekan traditions with a week of celebration. It involved 2 large dinner parties, 3 formal balls, and 1 day of prayer and rest for all the people of Chlebek. On the 7th day the wedding was held in the Royal Cathedral with over 2,000 guests inside and over 3,000 more waiting on the outside. The ceremony was on television, radio, everything!
The Royal Cathedral has no electrical lighting and is completely lit by candles that line the Cathedral walls. At the front there are 77 candles around and above the alter. It is very breath taking. The wedding ceremony for a member of the royal family takes about 2 hours total.
First, there is the introducing of the groom or "Serkan" as they are called in Chlebek. Then, the Serkan's family (parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, etc.) are introduced. After the Serkan, the bride or "Emese" is introduced along with her family.
Next, the Serkan and Emese are brought together and they read a 2 page prayer. During this prayer all of the people kneel and close their eyes. After the prayer, the pastor/priest called the "Sabas" reads a passage after which the Serkan and Emese repeat it, holding hands and looking upwards towards heaven (on the ceiling of the cathedral there is a large mural of the stars and sky, so it would not be hard to imagine you were looking at heaven).

This enraged Juliana's parents, as they had always wanted to marry a family friend, a Scottish Lord. This led for Juliana to be banished from her country and no alliance was to be made, local legend tells Juliana's mother was offended by Grand Duke Marcovic at their royal wedding, and that was the final straw for Juliana and her family. Juliana was not received well by the Sokolov people at first, they had wanted their beloved monarch to marry one of their own people, Lady Helena of Trovitz II. Now, Juliana is a favourite.

All alone in the big, cold castle the winter seemed endless and Emperor Guillaume could not stop thinking that it would all be different if he had had a woman there and could listen to little feet running over the beautiful wooden floors. The dream soon became a plan. Emperor Guillaume was determined that he was going to find a bride and that he would be married before the spring.
Knowing that a noble princess was not to be found in the tiny Castillon Emperor Guillaume sent messengers to all princesses in all the kingdoms he could possibly think of. Sadly all the princesses turned out to be either too young or too old for him. All but one. Six weeks later, early in the morning Baroness of Pezado arrived to Castillon. She was the the most wonderful woman Emperor Guillaume had ever seen and his knees were shaking and his voice trembled when he tried to speak to her. Soon he learned that she was not only beautiful but also very intelligent. The day after he asked her to marry him. Baroness of Pezado said yes. Emperor Guillaume was the happiest man alive.

King Damien went on a trip not long ago, to Switzerland. He was getting very serious about installing ski lifts to please his people. He placed a very large order with a skiing company, and then did some sightseeing. He briefly left Switzerland and stumbled upon a small, snowy country called Kasprzaski. There was a large castle and some tiny houses cramped around it, but that was about it (it was a very small country). He entered the castle and was invited to dinner by King Lukas Simon Noah David Nico Joel Dubovich VII. The two men spent hours talking and eating (they both loved movies and food-- naturally how they bonded), and King Lukas was so taken with the King Damien that he insisted that King Damien marry his daughter, Princess Emilia, right away.
When King Damien returned to Alterac, he came with a new young bride. A week later, ski lifts were installed all around the island, a new movie had floated ashore, and there was much for the people to celebrate.
*I think the idea of intermarrying between players is neat, if you can figure out a way to do that.
