[Opinions] Parthenope (as a middle name)
I was thinking about the name Parthenope, because it's used to designate my hometown in Italy. Since it seems unlikely at the moment that I'll go back to live there full-time, I thought that using it as a middle name could be a nice way for a future daughter, if I ever have one, to keep a connection to her roots. I find it slightly tacky to use it as a fn however, especially as the name sounds a bit weird.
WDYTO Parthenope? What fns (prefereably ending in -a or anyway Latin-sounding) would go well with it?

Love Parthenope.I first heard the name when watching a TV program about Florence Nightingale. Her sister was named Parthenope. Supposedly, the two sisters were named after the cities in Italy where they were born (if I remember correctly). I think Parthenope was born in Naples -- am I right?Anyway, the British narrator pronounced it "par-THEN-uh-pee." Very pretty. Is that how you pronounce it? As for fns, how about:Anna Parthenope
Renata Parthenope (= reborn in Naples?)
Silvia Parthenope
Mariana Parthenope
Livia Parthenope
Iris Parthenope
Isidora Parthenope
Lydia / Lidia Parthenope
Elena Parthenope
Adriana Parthenope (Adriatic Sea is another reference?)
Natalia Parthenope (= born in Naples?)
Artemis Parthenope
Artemisia Parthenope (nn Mia, Mimi, Misia?)
Zoe Parthenope
Leda Parthenope
Anything but Sophia / Sofia. I'm so tired of it. Good luck!

I like it as a middle name. I think Lena Parthenope would be nice.

honestly i really like it. i agree that it would be WAY too much for a fn, but i think it's rather pretty for a mn.
