[Opinions] Sévérine?
It occured to me today, when musing about the dreadfulness of the Harry Potter epilogue and the fact that Albus Severus would be a very difficult name, that I rather like the name Sévérine, and the combo Lily Sévérine.Of course, I think Lily Sévérine would come off as a bit Potter-fangirly. So, does anyone have suggestions of first names to go with Sévérine? (Or perhaps even middle names, but I'm not sure about it as a first name...) Also, what do you think Sévérine?

I know this name under the spelling Séverine (and prononciation sehv-reen) - anyway, it's not bad, but not my style, and I wouldn't associate it with HP, just a regular French name to me.

I think Lily Severine is a very cute combo.

There is a singer Severina (se-ve-reenah), it's a rare female form of the name Severin, which is a local name for a kind of wind.
I've never connected it with Harry Potter, maybe because I knew the singer's name before the books came out.

Polina Sévérine - Do you think the repeated sounds would be a problem? They don't bother me--I think Polina's such a lovely name that it shouldn't matter. Besides, there's a certain poetry to the sound, if you ask me. ;) I'm glad you like them--this is why I like coming up with suggestions for you. There's plenty of space for interesting ideas. :D And yes, that does help a good deal. If you feel like going liney on us, the tag is < hr > without spaces. I always add a < /hr > right next to it, though I don't recall if that's strictly necessary. Array

All right, thank you for the help! I added the line, and I'll see if it works out well.Thanks. It's really great getting such interesting suggestions. I agree, Polina Sévérine is very musical. I can't recal ever thinking about the name much before, but it's beautiful.
