I've been changing around my namelist a LOT -- I got rid of almost all of what's been on there for years and am starting fresh with Finnish names. What do you think of these names?

Kielo (KEE-eh-lo)
Marja (MAR-ya)
Meri (MEH-ree)
Päivä (Paiva)
Ritva
Seija (SAY-ya)
Taika
Kaja (KAI-ya)
Kari

Niilo (NEE-lo)
Ahti
Sulo
Vesa
Talvi (means "winter")

Also, what about these combos? Middle names are all for family.

Kielo Anne

Kielo (KEE-eh-lo): Looks a lot like Kilo though.
Marja (MAR-ya)
Meri (MEH-ree)
Päivä (Paiva)
Ritva: I prefer Rivka.
Kaja (KAI-ya)
Niilo (NEE-lo)

Kielo - Can't decide right now whether I like it or not - anyway, sounds and looks lovely and flowers are beautiful.
Marja - Popular and gets very easily mixed up with Maria.
Meri - Like this, my favoutite of all these names. Very sweet.
Päivä (Paiva) - Nms.
Ritva - I have hard time imagining this on a little girl. Sounds like older woman, but then again, my aunt's name is Ritva, so maybe that's why I associate it with older woman.
Seija - Hate it.
Taika - When I was little, I had a toy horse called Taika. :)
Kaja - Dislike.
Kari - Eww.
Niilo - OK.
Ahti - It has a great history, but other than that it's ugly.
Sulo - Sounds like a dog to me.
Vesa - Look 'Kari'.
Talvi - I actually like this for a girl as a mn.

From your combos, I like Niilo Michael and Kielo Anne.

These names are not really my style. But if I had to choose names that I would like of these I would choose:

Kielo
Kaja
Kari
Vesa
Talvi

Of the combos you mentioned I like Kielo Anne. I think that Kaja Anne would be nice too.

Kielo (KEE-eh-lo) - For a girl? Sounds better on a boy
Marja (MAR-ya) - Noo! So typical finnish and it makes me think of a old angry lady.
Meri (MEH-ree) - Hmm. yes, I like it more than Mary/Marie.
Päivä (Paiva) - No. I'm Swedish so we have those letters in our alphabet but if you don't live in a country with those lettes it will just be alot of problems.
Ritva - Same as Marja.
Seija (SAY-ya) - Like it
Taika - Love
Kaja (KAI-ya) - Love!
Kari - Hmm..not sure

Niilo (NEE-lo) - Like it, but I like Nilo too.
Ahti - No
Sulo - Makes me think of Sole.
Vesa - Makes me think of vessla, whcih is the swedish word for weasel
Talvi (means "winter") - I guess it's OK

Sorry but I don't really like any of the combos.
Maybe Niilo Alexander, Niilo Sebastian, Talvi Michael, Talvi Theodore?
Seija Josephine, Kaja Mathilde?
