I know a boy in my class whose surname is amorim, I live in brazil. It must mean something around to love, which is ´´amor`` in portuguese.

I'm portuguese and my surname is Amorim. I don't know the meaning of my last name but I can tell you that has nothing to do with love ("amor"). The only thing I know is that it comes from Galicia, Spain and it was probably a name of a place in the past.
