[Opinions] Ari (b) (ok...last post)
What do you think of the name Ari (ah-ree) for a boy? I am starting to like it a lot.

I like it, although it does automatically make me think of the character from Entourage! Still though it is a nice solid name that fits both a little boy and a grown man. All three meanings, lion, eagle, and brave, are also adorable!

I know! I love the meanings!

I've only seen "Entourage" a few times, but I thought it was funny that Jeremy Piven's character's name was Ari Gold--there's an openly gay singer with the exact same name. http://www.arigold.com/There's your random useless information for the day. ;)

Ari (AH-ree) is a tad nicknamey for my tastes. I think I'd like it better as a nn for Ariel (AH-ree-ul).

I like it but it just 'seems' so nickname-y to me. I'd like it as a nn for Ariel if the name wasn't so tightly associated (in the U.S. at least) with "The Little Mermaid". And my opinion of it swayed a bit recently when I was watching one of those Nanny shows with my brother (who is 46) and one of the little boys was named Ari, and he constantly had tantrums. And my brother commented, 'He's just upset because his name is Ari.' :-/ I wondered if most people would have that reaction to a child with this name. Also, I used to know a girl named Ariadne, nn Ari, so I see it as somewhat feminine, too.

I really love this name. I like Ari Gabriel as a combo, but I could think of others as well. :)

Love the combo!

Ari is ok IMO because it reminds me of Ali. I would much rather prefer Ali though.

I love it for both sexes.

I really like the name Ari and the meanings are great : )Arie is also nice, although with this spelling I'm reminded of the zodiac sign Aries, and a bird nest called an Aerie.
