[Opinions] nickname
K my name is really common for boys, but not so much on girls, so ive be thinking about using Carter as a nickname, i know it is also a guys name, but im used to it i guess.
Carter work as a nickname for a girl. wdyt

Nicknames are affectionate, playful, familiar names used by people close to you - you generally don't get to pick them. And surnames are distancing and formal (and if affectionate, it's a distanced affection, the only kind that is acceptable for males to show one other in most contexts -- like when you call someone by their surname). So no, not IMO... but if it is your actual last name, sure, as long as your friends naturally "feel it."

Well, I'd say you could use anything for a nickname if you like it. I think Carter is okay on a girl because of Samantha Carter from Stargate SG-1. Everyone called her Carter.
