Thanks, but I wish that it was true in my case but maybe I'm just weird. My grandmother was named Lidya(I was named after her) and no one ever forgot her name.As for the alternete spellings I've seen:
Lidya
Lydya
Littia
Lidyuh
Lidiya

Well, at least not as many spellings as CaitlinSeems that most names can be spelled differently. Maybe not Emma and Hannah but many others. Emily, Emelie, Emmaleigh etc. Haley, Hailey, Hayley, Hayleigh, Haileigh etc.

People can go out of their way to misspell a name, trust me. My name is Heather and I've got a few variations, believe it or not. :b I know a woman named Claudia who says people misspell her name all the time, and I'm thinking, 'How many ways are there to spell Claudia??' LOL.

Maybe Cloudya, Cloddia, Clawdia?I guess if people have never met anyone before with the name and don't read much, then they have no clue.

Exactly! If only people read more instead of just sitting in front of the tv....
