[Opinions] Re: Elisabeth/Elizabeth
in reply to a message by Libby
Question 1: Is the name Elisabeth Kaye a good name?
It's a fine name, though I prefer the Elizabeth spelling. Both are correct, though. I prefer the spelling Kaye to Kay.Question 2: What are some original nicknames for Elisabeth, other than the ones on this site?
Not going to check if they're listed on this site because there's probably fifty listed but I'll skip the more common ones: Elle, Ellie, Nell, Eli, Bess, Abby, Izzy, Isa, Isabel (you could justify that as a nickname, as it's a different form), Bebe, Ebba, Abe, Lily, Lilibeth, Lisbeth (leez-bet), Lee, Lys, Sabs, Babs, Babette, Isabie.

Yeah, I like Kaye better too. Ha. That's true; there's a million different ones on the list. New:Elle
Nell
Isabel
Bebe (although that's a bit too close to 'Baby' for me)
Ebba
Abe (I'd be reminded of Abraham Lincoln...)
Lily (Harry's mother ...and I guess daughter)
Lys
Babs
Isabie (I sort of like this one. It's really different sounding. =D )
I like Elle the best of all. It's simple and (I forget the exact word but) able to be read backwards the same as forewards. Isabie is really original, but I imagine my friends struggling to say it. =DThank you for your answers.

Thank you! I knew it started with a P. I remember that much from The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. Adah (referred to herself as Ada) was the one obsessed with palindromes. She became an atheist at the age of 6 because her Sunday school teacher made her kneel in rice for an hour because she questioned location having anything to do with being saved. (Her father was a minister so being an atheist....not good.) Adah switched around "Oh God, God's Love" to "Evol's Dog, Dog ho." Even though half her brain was shrunken, Adah was my favorite character. She was the most interesting of all the Price women.
