I prefer AgnesAgatha sounds like an elderly cranky lady. But this may be b/c in Swedish, Agatha rhymes with "ragata", which means "termagant". I prefer Agnes, a name which is rather popular in Sweden."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

Like many others who have posted, I like this name in concept but I really don't find it very appealing in reality.
I love Agatha Christie, and I named one of my family's dogs Agatha after her. The name suits her well. She's a very strange-looking, kind of ugly little dog, but very smart and sweet.

I wouldn't use it, but it has a quirky, old fashioned charm. agatha Christie immediately comes to mind. I do like the nn Aggie, though I'm used to it from a young woman I knew named Agnes.

It's ok, but too outdated to use I'm afraid.

I think it's a very nice name, and I greatly prefer it to Agnes. I probably wouldn't use it though.

I like it but I don't (which make no sense at all), I'm the same with Agnes. I can never decide whether it's pretty or not. Strange name :)

I love love Agatha! my mom and I are big fans of Agatha Christie, I would love to use it but I'm just afraid of the kind of teasing that would go on.

Because I adore Agatha Christie, I wish I could like this name! But to my ears, it's just very, very unattractive. Agnes or Gertrude style. Sorry :-(_____________________________________________________________________Elinor"Well-behaved women rarely make history."

i went to school with a girl named agatha, and since she was so pretty, it made the name more acceptable to me. she was half french and our french teacher always pronounced it that way- agata - which sounds nicer anyway.

Agatha is not my style. The meaning os "good" is nice but for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me. The nn Aggie is kind of cute.

I really want to like this name. I like the way it looks on paper, but I just can't bring myself to like the sound of it.
