I have been a member of babynames for

Mieczys (prn. MYE-chi) and Pol (prn. PAWL) are both Polish-Americans. They grew up together in a small Polish community in Wisconsin. They met at a young age, and took an instant dislike to each other. Pol liked to pull on her braids, and Mieczys liked to drop pebbles on his head when he walked past the ground underneath the second story schoolhouse windows. By the age of 14 and 15, their dislike with each other slowly turned into attraction and then into love. They became high school sweethearts and married when Mieczys was 17 and Pol 18. Julius and Violenta were born 2 years later. Julius was named after Pol's father, Juliusz Kedzierski, who died when Pol was 16. Violenta was named after Wioleta Broż, Mieczys's maternal grandmother.
