[Opinions] Piper and Pepper
There's a post below that requests "spunky" girls names, and I suggested Piper and Pepper while adding that I prefer them as nns. Then I thought, nns for what? So I was wondering if you thought they could work as nns for any of the following:Philipa/Philippina (although for this Pippa is my top choice)
Perpetua
Persephone
Parthenope
ProserpinaTIA

I think Piper is cute, however, I can't really see it as a nickname for any of the names you listed. It's too much of a stretch for any of them. Pepper was the name of a friend of mine's dog, so I can't really see it as a human name. But it could work as a nn for Perpetua.

Perpetua "Pepper" is pretty cute. For any of the others, I think Pepper is too far a stretch. Piper is fine as a name in its own right, imo. Modern and fashionable but perfectly respectable ... more so than Pepper, really.I love Parthenope and Persephone in their own right, without those nns. Without any nns, probably. (Actually, I do like Seph for Persephone.)

Also (sorry, nsi...)I think Poppy might be cute as a nn for Parthenope.

I like the idea of Pepper as an occassional nn for Perpetua. Real cute :)Maybe Penelope? I could see it working for Philippa, Parthenope
Proserpina or any other P name really. Pepita, Perlita, Permelia, Persis, Patricia? I love Persephone, but prefer the nn Sephy for it.

I really can't see Piper as a nn for anything. I've only ever seen it on its own, I think.I can see Pepper being more of a nn based on personality than name, though my first thought when you asked what name it might be a nn for was Patricia.

I love Pipper on its own. Not a fan of Pepper, but to me it's a personality characteristic nickname (meaning for a spunky child), not something I'd connect with another name.
