Junius -- I love it, but most people will ask him, "You mean Julius?" It would get old so fast as a fn. The feminine form Junia, is eminently useable. I'd love to meet a little Junia one day.
Livy -- Completely unuseable here in teh U.S. This will be seen as a female form of Olivia. Unfortunately, he will get stared at and embarassed a lot.
Livia -- How wicked Livia was in "I,Claudius." And it is so beautiful, as a name. Love it. The big down-side is the inevitable, "You mean Olivia?"
Antonius -- A zippy and refreshing change of pace from Anthony. Sure, why not?
Claudius -- The "clod" part will turn many people off. But I do like it. I don't know if it's the most useable fn though.
Porcia -- Porcine. Sorry, but I don't care for this. That's funny, because Portia is perfectly lovely in my book and I pronounce them exactly the same way.
Pompeia -- The word pompous should put me off this name, but it doesn't. Pompeia has a lovely sound to it. I'd keep it for the mn position.
Cassius -- Perfectly useable. I see this name bandied about name sites often enough. It's not my favorite, but I'd like to see it on someone else's child.
Octavia -- Love, love, love it. Use it, please! Quirky and commanding at the same time.
Sextus -- anything with "sex" in it is unuseable here in the U.S. We are too immature to handle it. *sigh*
Tiberius -- Love it. Definitely useable.
Seneca -- People will think it's part of the geographic trend, rather than a Roman name. But I don't see why that should stop someone who truly loves this name.
Britannicus -- It strikes me as a silly name, sorry. Apologies to any Brits out there. I love your island and have close relations living there. But this name just isn't doing it for me.
Quintus -- Love it. Especially on a fifth child. Or a child who is the fifth to carry a fn / mn combination.
Aulus -- I like it, but it feels unfinished.
Attis -- I've never heard of it before. This must be the male conterpart to Attia, a name I heard for the first time recently watching the HBO series "Rome." Attis doesn't feel finished either.
