My family is getting a golden retriever for Christmas! Since it has hazel eyes a pinkish nose, we wanted to name it Rudy (Short for Rudolph, you know- the reindeer). BUT, it was a girl (thank goodness) so we may name it RUBY. I think its really cute, and the puppy is only 5 months old so it will suit her now throughout her lifetime. So, what do you think of the name Ruby? Do you know any other names that might suit her? Thank you inadvance! ;D

I like Ruby and I think it would be cute for your dog. My grandparents had a golden retriever called Nelly, I think that would suit yours too. :)

My first pet bunny was named Ruby. It didn't have anything to do with the way she looked. It was just a name we liked. She was a very sweet rabbit with quite a personality, so I still love the name Ruby. It sounds like a good name for a dog, too.

I don't like the name Ruby. We named three fish in a row this name and they kept dying so we tried a new name and the fish lasted for three years. I'm telling you, that name is cursed. So sorry if you really don't care about that little personal story, but i felt I should explain why I dislike the name. I've always liked the name Poppy(you know,like Red Poppies)if you want to go with the whole red thing. I hope that helps. Congrats on the puppy and your 2month-1 week-6th day until your birthday!

I adore the name Ruby, it's a fave of mine, but I prefer it for humans! What about the name Hazel instead, since she has hazel coloured eyes? As soon as I read about her eye colour I thought of that name.
