[Opinions] local BAs
To my great delight, I discovered a maternity clinic in the city I'm living at the moment has a BA section in its website. Here are some recent births (commas between names indicate that the kid won't have to sign or bear officially his or her middle names anc can pick any of the names to use normally, I think. I put an asterix next to the ones I like
Hadrian*, Jan, Simon
Nidhi (of Middle Eastern descent, judging by the surname)
Victoria* Marie*
Alienor*, Anne*, Gisèle
Samantha
Alix*, Celeste
MAximilien, Angelo*
Isabel Marie
Amin

Pierre-Auguste (wins the pretentiousness award)

Wow, this is one of the first BAs with names I like! I like Victoria, Marie, Anne, Gisele, Celeste, Isabel, and Achille. I used to like Simon but two things ruined it for me: the American Idol judge and a baby that a woman I don't like had recently. I'll probably end up liking Nora at some point, but right now I'd probably give it a 6 out of 10.
I like:
Hadrian
Jan (prn. yan)
Victoria
Marie
Gisèle
Maximilien
Isabel
Pierre-Auguste (wouldn't use it, but I love it!)
Achille
Milo

Pierre-Auguste just sounds French to me, not any more pretentious than August in English. Which admittedly I do think a little pretentious, but it's a fashionable name.
I really like Pierre-Auguste. His family must be French. Double first names are popular among French speaking people. An ex-boyfriend of mine is named Pierre-Philppe. I loved his name and that name was given to him by his French mom, Julie-Christine.
