Esmeralda is pretty, but far too frilly for me. I once knew an Esmeralda, but she went by Esme.
It is quite reminiscient of Hunchback of Notre Dame, but I don't think everyone would be bothered about that really.
I prefer Emerald myself (but I probably wouldn't have the guts to use it)
