[Facts] Re: Pronunciation of Carys
in reply to a message by eleri2
We just named our daughter Carys, and are not finding the pronunciation as easy as this states. I found three other web sites with different suggestions:
From: http://www.dischord.net/kaeori/listframe.htm
Carys : Cari : KAH-reece : Welsh : love
From: http://www.c-myste.com/names.html
Caryl, Carys (f) love
From: http://www.c-myste.com/names.html
Caryl, Carys (f) love
See the web site for full list of pronunciations:
c - as in English cake, never as in ace
a - short as in pat, long as in father
r - trilled in Welsh
y - short as in sit, long as in seat
s - as in sit, never as in nose

Carys (KARE-iss) “love”
So I guess you just have to find something you are happy with and go for it!
