[Opinions] Allen or Allan

My cousin and her husband are expecting third 2nd child, a boy, and they want to use either Allen or Allan the middle name but they can't decide. Wdyt is better, Allen or Allan?

I don't like the name, but I prefer Allan, because Allen means "everyone" in Dutch, so that would be a bit weird.

Allen looks too surnamey. I would go with Allan simply because of Poe.

I also agreeAllan looks made up to me, like they couldn't decide between Alan or Allen so they mushed them together.

Alan is also an option but they prefer Allen or Allan.
