[Opinions] Katharine/Catherine
Catherine, and variants of it, was my top name for years and years. It fell a few years ago, but I've suddenly taken a liking to it. It would be the name of my SIL, but I'm still tempted to use it. I would most likely call her Kay, I think.
Wdyt? I was thinking about Katharine May or Catharine May, though I would probably use the second spelling. I'm also thinking about variants, such as Catria.

I prefer Katherine. For some reason I like the 'er as opposed to the 'ar. Not sure why.
My name is Catherine! I like that you aren't doing Cate/Catie/Kate/Katie. That's what I got stuck with, and there are 500 of them. My mum wanted to call me Cat, but my grandmum threw a hiss fit about it. So now I'm constantly mispelled 'Katie.'
So I think it's lovely, and I prefer the 'C' spelling, but that's obviously a personal bias. And yes, go with the unusual nickname. Much much better, and Kay is lovely. A question, if you go with a C spelling, will she still be Kay spelt that way? Or Cay? (Which looks weird to me.)

I love the spelling Katharine. It's gorgeous, imo.
Katherine or Catharine
I prefer the spelling K-A-T-H-E-R-I-N-E. Call me picky, but I read An Abundance of Katherines and cannot see it spelled any other way. Besides I have an Aunt Katherine.
I must confess I absolutely hate it with an A after the H. I don't know why, but it bothers me to no end. I don't really like it with a C either, but I can stand it. It's better than the ending -ryn at least.
So out of your choices, I'd say Catharine May. (Catria is pretty too, though.)
May is okay, but it's sort of a filler. People in her class might call her "Catty Mae" unintentionally, trying to be funny. (My classmates used to call our band director "Reggie Mae" -- or "Fergie.") And then one day they would find out her middle name actually was May.

Lovely name, but I'd prefer the second "a" to be an "e".
I love both Catherine and Katharine. I think Kay makes a lovely nn, especially if the full name is Katharine May. I prefer it spelt with a K only because I see it spelt that way less often here. I *love* Caitria and its definitely my favourite variant. =)
I love the name (one of my top favorites), though my preferred spelling is either Katherine or Kathryn. The "C" does absolutely nothing for me, and I don't particularly care for the "a" in place of the "e". Definitely, if I had to choose, though, I'd go with Katharine May, which is a lovely combo imo.
