One day about a month ago, Kade found a baby girl on our doorstep when he came back from school. Naturally, he had no idea what to do, so he brought it inside and looked after it all afternoon until Chad and I came home (Emerson and Peyton were at their respective sports events.) We took the baby to the police station and explained that it had been left at our home; the officers took the baby immediately and thanked us for bringing her to the station.
As it turned out, the baby belonged to a teenage runaway who was later found two blocks from our house. She got to a hospital soon enough to receive proper treatment. Her parents had no idea she was pregnant and now want to help raise their granddaughter. All's well that ends well!
