Your husband decided out of the blue to join the Navy. How does your family react to this?
John came home one night and told his family that he had just joined the Navy. At first Maddie was very upset and hurt that John did not discuss it with her first. But when John apoligized to Maddie, she forgave him and allowed him to explain himself. John explained to Maddie the benefits the family would now have by him being in the Navy. Maddie understood why he joined but she made him promise in the future to discuss things with her. So, now the Sutton family is officially a Navy family. John will be leaving soon for bootcamp and training. After John completes bootcamp and his other training, the family will be transferred overseas to Germany. Maddie has always wanted to travel, and is now a little excited about going to Europe. She is very scared though, about the chances that if John is sent away, he may not survive the war. She can't help but think about possilbe bad things happening to him. What if he is wounded and does not survive? What happens if she and the children are without a husband and father?
