[Opinions] Felix?
I would love some reviews on this name. The combo we have is Felix Gordon Campbell. Our other top contender is Rufus ( I posted about that yesterday). Do you think Felix is trendy/try hard? I would love some opinions.
Thanks!

I love the name Felix too, but I still prefer Rufus! I don't think Felix is trendy or try hard at all.

I really like Felix. It isn't one I would get around to using, but I certainly like seeing and hearing it.

I really love Felix Gordon Campbell, but I hate the FEEL-icks pronunciation. It just sounds so cringy and...feeeeely. Blech. I've recently fallen in love with the German pronunciation of FEL-icks. WDYT?
I do like Rufus and it might be a better choice if your worried about popularity (I wouldn't call Felix trendy, but it is gaining in popularity).

I really like Felix. Sure there's Felix the cat but kids today don't know who it is.

I LOVE Felix.
I don't know why, it just appeals to me! However, I don't know if it's useable, because everyone thinks it's a cat's name.I like Felix Elias or Felix Alexander as combos, but Felix Gordon also flows well.

Felix doesn't seem trendy to me at all. Its popularity has been fairly steady and I much prefer it to Rufus which always makes me think of a barking dog.BTW: I love Felix Gordon.

I love Felix and I don't think it's trendy or anything. I don't really like Gordon but it sounds good. Maybe Felix Sebastian, Felix Matthew, Felix Alexander, Felix Vincent, Felix Leonard or Felix Theodore?

Middle names are family names so will stay - thanks for the suggestions though:) I especially liked Felix Theodore- Theodore is on our top 3 list.

I like Felix and think it's underused. Not so keen on Rufus - I always think of the weak English king William Rufus who was shot by one of his knights while out hunting!

I don't think it's too trendy or hard sounding. I've only met a couple of Felixes. I think it would sound cute on a little boy and still age well when he's older. I like it better than Rufus. Is Gordon honorific?

Yes- Gordon was my grandfather (mom's side) and great-grandfather's (dad's side) name. Campbell is my husband's clan name from Scotland- every male in his family has it.

Ha, my husband's family is from Scotland, too! :) Our son doesn't have his clan name in his name, though. Didn't occur at the time. I wonder if it's too late to stick it in?Hmm, then. Felix Gordon Campbell...Felix Campbell Gordon. I like it the first way. Rufus Gordon Campbell also works. I think both fns are good, heard-of-but-not-too-common names.I like Felix, though I'm (pleasantly) reminded of Felix The Cat, which I don't think too many kids would know who that was nowadays.

I've thought about sticking another honouring name in my daughter's too- I also wonder if it's too late- she's almost two...not sure.
Thanks for your responses- it helps to see what other people think when trying to sort out names etc.
