[Opinions] Adonis
I hadn't thought of this in a while, but it just popped into my head now. I used to work at one of those restaurants where the customer gives their name to be called out when their order is ready. I was ringing up some guy - curly brown brillow pad hair, pimples, pale, gangly. I asked for his name. "Joe," he says. And then he hands me his credit card. Its owner's name was Apollo. I looked up at this guy, said, "I don't meet many Apollos" (which I shouldn't have said at all, looking back) and he blushed about ten shades or red.Anyway - this is what I think of whenever I think that Aphrodite actually is a really pretty name or something. I bet his parents were hoping the name would shape him in some way. Hmm.

Yes, that's why I'm agaisnt to all names that refer too obviously to beauty such as Adonis, Apollo, Aprhodite, Venus and even Belle. Each time someone suggests them, I can't help imagining a pudgy, balding, short midddle-aged Adonis or a pimply and overweight teen Venus.
I have a friend named Joline which sounds so close to "jolie" (pretty in French) and I think it's lucky that she happens to be gorgeous.
