One day a few weeks ago, Lillian took Eleanor and Kieran to the playground. Daniel is still serving in the Navy, and Eleanor hadn't seen him in three months. She saw a young man she mistakenly thought was her daddy and jumped off the sliding board to reach him. She fell on her left leg and broke it. It was a clean break, and she will recover just fine, but Daniel is absolutely beating himself up over it.
