And so the next generation begins! Our little Annie is all grown up now and married with a little baby of her own. She got married last year to her new husband Nicholas Brooks - a twenty-year old business major. Annie is also twenty now, a mathematics major at LAU. He proposed to her after they dated for four years and they got married on the beach. Annie and Nick are very happy together and Evan and I couldn't be happier for them.
Not long after they were married, Annie found out she was expecting their first baby. Evan and I were very surprised, but very excited to hear that we were about to be first-time grandparents. When the big day came, Annie gave birth to a happy, smiling baby girl whom they named Caramia Hayden Brooks - she has very light brown hair and bright blue eyes. She looks very much like Annie did when she was a baby. Nick and Annie bring Mia over every week to visit - Chris, Gracie, Evan, and Leah love seeing their little niece. We are overjoyed to be the proud grandparents of such a beautiful little girl.
In other news, Leah is 18 now - a senior in high school. She is really enjoying her last year of high school and is already looking towards college. She wants to go to Chicago to study art, Evan and I are behind her in everything she does. We can't believe that all our kids are growing up so fast.
Evan is growing up fast as well. He is fifteen now, a sophomore in high school. He looks exactly like his father and, thankfully, has his father's height and not mine. He is on the tennis team and the golf team. He is in the band and is a part of many different clubs and activities. He is a relatively good student, with mostly A's and B's, but he is very hard-working. He is also very much looking forward to college in a few short years. He wants to study to be a lawyer when he graduates. He is very social and has no trouble making friends.
Gracie is ten already! She is in the fourth grade and is still the girly girl she was five years ago. She loves clothes, music, purses, shoes, everything. She is extremely talkative and has a lot of close friends. She already cannot wait for high school, even though she has another 5 years to go, but she is excited anyway. She absolutely loves hanging out with her older sisters and getting to play with her little niece Caramia.
Chris is the little monkey he has always been. He likes everything from football, baseball, and basketball, to playing with his little niece. He is seven years old and in second grade now. He is very shy, unlike his older brother and sisters, but for the most part he gets along with everyone. He loves school more than anything and is looking forward to learning cursive writing this year.
Our family is doing spectacular and is growing all the time. We cannot wait to see what else is in store for us.
