Help[Opinions] Haila
I've been reading a series of short stories featuring famous detective duos and one of the female detectives is named Haila. I'm not in the mood to find out more about the name, but the series began in the late '20s. I really like the name.

I don't like it at all. It is too close to heil (as in heil Hitler) and I can't get away from that association.

It makes me think of Haile Selasse, hailstones, and the way overuded Hayley. Not my style at all.

Interesting.
Haila, most likely because of how I encountered it, speaks of 1920s-1940s mystique and romance, very eloquent and foreign.

It's ok, but I prefer Hala, which I would like a lot if it didn't remind me of a spoiled and annoying Saudi Arabian girl I used to know.

Hala seems very video gamish to me
Haila seems more complete. I wonder if the names are complete, and where an English-woman in the 1920s would have gotten it.
