Nouveau means "new" in French, and it's MALE x_x Nouvelle would be female, but even then it's a pretty weird name ... how about Nova ? seems a lot more useable as a name to me.
Garland in French would be "Guirlande", I don't see the use of making something "look french", but it's a pretty nice meaning.

I think making it "look French" is code for, pretentious but ignorant of the actual reality.
