[Opinions] Aviel
I'm quite excited about Aviel (ah-vee-el). It means "God is my father," (not the nouns reversed, as sometimes given, which sounds idolatrous!), and it's the Hebrew form of Abiel, in the Bible as King Saul's grandfather. Abiel was used by the Puritans. Aviel, fairly uncommon, is used in Israel and among Jewish families, and is now (I discovered by Googling) sometimes being given to girls.
I was inspired to think about this name as the result of a friend just having a baby girl, Amiel, which is usually given only to boys.
WDYT of Aviel?
Is it cool for a boy?
Would it be a pretty alternative to Ava and Aviva?
Would Avielle or Aviella work too?
