[Opinions] Valentine
Tonight, the middle name Valentine for a girl is my obsession. Blame the anime Cowboy Bebop for putting it in my mind as a name that belongs on the far ends of the spectrum of sweetness; someone with the second name Valentine is either the epitome of a lace-and-ruffles Victorian-era darling or a gun-toting badass who takes care of herself. Put them together, and you have lovable but dangerous...and that's a combination that really appeals to me.What do you think of these, and what might you suggest?Alice Valentine (the perennial favourite--I love the repeated sounds, before someone harps on them ;)
Shani Valentine (the perennial favourite among those first names I'm really tied to--I apologize if you're sick of seeing it)
Isadora Valentine
Lorena Valentine
Clare Valentine
Faustina Valentine (-eena and -EYNE)
Esther Valentine
Rose Valentine
Mira ValentineOh, and do you guys have any names that feel to you like Valentine feels to me? Sweet but risky, beautiful and deadly?Array

I like Valentine a lot. It's romantic and sweet in a lovely pure way; sugar, not saccharine. I don't think of it as Victorian because completely lacks any "think of England" severity, and I haven't watched much Cowboy Bebop so Faye Valentine is not that compelling to me. Because Valentine is so precious, I think I like it best paired with something a little down-to-earth and not so frilly. Of the ideas you have, I like Shani Valentine best. Mira Valentine and Clare Valentine are nice, and Rose Valentine is very sweet.Other suggestions:
Ruth Valentine
Mary Valentine
June Valentine
Lydia Valentine
Lida Valentine
Edith Valentine
May Valentine
Pala Valentine
Halley Valentine
Rita Valentine
Gali Valentine
Ada Valentine

I love it as a middle name. I've always been fond of it after reading The Count of Monte Cristo eons ago. (Valentine was a tertiary character).I love:
Alice Valentine
Clare Valentine
Rose ValentineBut that's probably because I tend towards "boring" old-fashioned names. As far as a feminine but strong name, the way you've described Valentine, I've always thought of Justine.

I rather like Valentine for a girl. I'd be much sooner to use it for a girl than a boy, that's for sure. It sounds great as a middle name, doesn't it? Something about the rhythm.Your combos are all good, really. These are some fns I like with Valentine myself:Briony Valentine
Kyra Valentine
Shona Valentine
Misha Valentine (too androgynous, perhaps)
Shyla Valentine
Zara Valentine
Augusta Valentine
Katina Valentine
Iona Valentine
Cambria Valentine

The trouble with Valentine is that it makes me think of all those songs: Blue Valentine, My Funny Valentine and whatnot. So it would be a little weird as a fn, but I guess it's ok as mn. Alice Valentine is nice, and Faustina Valentine works surprisingly well. Esther is cute too, the other combos are a bit too frilly.
