[Opinions] Re: Zoya.
Just by curiosity, since Avgvst brought it up... which one do you find more common, Zoia or Zoya?

Zoia vs ZoyaFor what it's worth, I've never met a Zoia or a Zoya, but ya definitely is the standard transcription of я, and Zoya has 1.1 million hits on Google compared to Zoia's 200,000.

I still think the "y" looks severe on paper compared to the "i" whether or not it is the conventional Cyrillic to English transposition, but after seeing outrageous spellings like Viktoriya (girl from Ukraine) in my school, I am more likely to anglocize further regardless.
