[Opinions] Siofra
This is a lot more romantic and girly than I normally like...but I'm really loving this name. Opinions? It's just such a lovely name with a gorgeous meaning. Siofra Helen? Other ideas? And other names that go with Siofra?

I love the way Siofra looks. I'm just not as enthused about the sound. Then again, it is a new one for me -- that may take time.Siofra Helen flows nicely.

And also: KendrickI really love the name, it's so poetic...but I lived with my ex who was named Kenneth. Would it be too weird if I used Kendrick?

I really like Kendrick (much more so than Kenneth) and don't think it's weird at all for you to use one day. As long as you and your SO don't mind, that's all that counts.

Kendrick is so beautiful!

No...I don't think weird.Kendrick and Kenneth aren't the same name. But if you'll think Kenneth everytime...then it might be better not to use it.

Kendrick is nice, but I do think the Kendrick/Kenneth similarity is too obvious.

Nope, Kendrick is totally different from Kenneth.
It's a favorite of mine, too.

Not my taste at all.

I've never seen it before you mentioned it in a thread below. This is why I come to this sight. You are nifty-fifty and made this name nerd's day.How is it pronounced? Other Irish names with "Si-" as pronounced with a "sh" sound. Is this one too? "SHOFF-ruh?" "SHEEF-ruh?" While I can't sound out Siofra Helen, the symbolism of Celtic and Greek mythology together is delicious. It's the kind of combination Oscar Wilde would have made. I don't think I can equal it, but I enjoy trying:Siofra Niamh (for the strong of heart)
Siofra Glynis
Siofra Eibhlin / Evelyn
Siofra Liadan
Siofra Emer (too spritely?)
Siofra Clare
Siofra Leto
Siofra Hesper
Siofra Ione (Advanced Pronunciation 101)
Siofra Daphne
Siofra Vivien
Siofra LinnetKendrick is very handsome. I don't know why it isn't more popular. As for the ex-boyfriend thing, only you can tell how comfortable you are with it. I wouldn't worry about other people's reactions, other than the father of the child of course.

I may not have mentioned it beforeBut it's been on my PNL for a long time. From the comments' section it seems to be SHEE-frahI really love:
Siofra iam
Siofra Emer
Siofra Linnet - which is by far my favorite. My ex comes with baggage. He was not particularly liked by most of my family members...I think I'll mention the name and gauge reactions.

Pronunciation?Is it "SHEE frah"?

Yes.

I love the meaning, but not the sound. Mostly because the first syllable is the French word for "number" or "digit" (chiffre). Siofra Helen is a handsome combo, though.

Siofra Helen reminds me of Liora Helen, a combo of yours I love. It's very pretty. It's not my style, but I'd like it on someone else.Siofra Perpetua
Siofra Magdalene
Siofra Elaine
Siofra Helena
Siofra Penelope
Siofra Dionne
