[Opinions] Nevaeh
What do you all think of Nevaeh? I have liked this name since last summer, and it has been going on and off my chart of girl's names.
Which do you like better, honestly:
Mia Isabella
or
Mia Nevaeh
I think Nevaeh is really quite pretty, but I wish it would be more popular. :)

Heaven is just as bad, too!
I do think it's pretty.
I still hate it on principle, though. If you completely ignore the origin, it does have a very pretty sound. (I say neh-vay.)
Just because it amuses me, my mom says it neh-vay-a, which I think is even prettier, but I'm not sure how she gets that from Nevaeh.
I'm definitely not going to encourage Nevaeh as a first name, but I do hate Isabella more. Mia Nevaeh (neh-vay) is quite pretty, actually. I really don't think it matters how trendy a middle name is; who's really going to know? If you like it, go for it.

I have always thought it was pronounced Neh-vay-a. I've never heard it said out loud because I don't think it exists over here (yet, give it time I'm sure it will). Neh-vay-a is a logical pronunciation to me and sounds quite pretty to me.
ditto to pronunciation
I say it ne-vay-uh
Something funny...
You will all get a kick out of this: Not only is Nevaeh growing popular, the name Neveah was #993 on the popularity charts in '06. That's right. Heaven spelled backward INCORRECTLY. This trend just gets better and better!

LOL
That's bad. Ugh.

Like pretty much everyone else, I dislike Neaveh. It's silly and has a counterintuitive spelling. It's odd you say you wish it were more popular, since not only it IS already popular enough and also, why would you want your daughter to have a popular name, that's not much fun, I can tell you.
Yikes!
Nevaeh is popular, very popular in the USA anyway. Nearly everyone on this site hates the name and thinks it's trendy and trashy. I love the sound of it myself and definitely think it's better for a mn. I think both combos are nice, but Mia Isabella flows better. Maybe you could use Nevaeh as the mn for a different fn?
Popular, and awful.
More popular? It's TOO popular.
Oh lord, I wish it would go away. I was reading the comments under that name a few days ago and someone brought up the point that people who name their kids Nevaeh are just ever-so-proud when someone asks what their kid's name is, and they go "Nevaeh - It'sHeavenBackwardsDidn'tchaKnow!" like they just can't spew it out fast enough in their rush to impress you. That's exactly why I hate it. Oh, and it just looks tacky, and how on earth do you pronounce it!?

Agreed! So overly common! :-(
Thanks all!
Well, pretty much everyone hates or dislikes it! :(
Well, see I'm still deliberating upon it...might just stick iwth Isabella. We'll see.
Maybe Maya's middle name can be this but Isabella for Mia wil be it for #1.

I really hope
you don't mean you want to use Mia AND Maya for sisters or twins. Please tell me I misunderstood you. :-/

I really hate the name Nevaeh. It may seem original now since nobody over the age of 3 has it, but by the time your daughter gets to kindergarten there will be five in her class. Besides that, it's made up. All it is is the word "heaven" spelled backwards. If you MUST, use Heaven. Just not Nevaeh. It doesn't even look right. I think a better option would be to go with Niamh / Neve (pronounced as either NEEV or NEV), Laila, or something that sounds similar but has an actual meaning and history. I think Mia Isabella is pretty. Isabella is way too popular for my tastes, but it sounds like that's what you're looking for. Mia is a pretty, classy name, though I prefer it as a nickname for Magnolia or Amelia.

I love Mia alone or as a nickame for Amelia. Isabella goes great with it. Nevaeh is okay. The funny thing is it has jumped in popularity so much that last year I was looking at the list and saw Nevaeh at 43 and was like what is this name, never heard of it before and yet it is ranked 43! It will probably be more popular for 2007 if that continues so you might get your wish, lol.
Mia Isabella
I prefer Mia Isabella because it just sounds nicer than Mia Nevaeh.
I can see the appeal of Nevaeh. It flows nicely, and can be considered "refreshing" after years of seeing names like Megan, Amanda, and Allison on the charts. I haven't personally met any Nevaeh's, so I don't know if any bearers of this name or their families are trashy. But honestly, I don't think a bearer could completely ruin a name for me - I would just wonder why such an awful person has to have such a nice name.
With that said, I myself wouldn't use Nevaeh because I don't want to be guilty of being "trendy" and "unoriginal", and because I like other names much better.

It IS popular!
Nevaeh is just heaven spelled backwards. It was the 43rd most popular name in 2007 (http://www.parenthood.com/article-topics/article-topics.php?Article_ID=4267). That beats names like Brooke, Megan, Stephanie, Allison, Rachel, Zoe and loads of other very common names. I honestly don't like Isabella, either, but I would choose it in a heartbeat over Nevaeh. It's not that Nevaeh doesn't sound pretty, because it does. It's just that it's made up and the spawn of 21st century trendyness.

LOL. This is so the wrong place to ask about Nevaeh-- just warning you. I don't think I've come across anyone here who doesn't find it horrible.
It's already really popular, I have NO IDEA what you mean about it being more popular. It's number 43, which is really high up.
Honestly, Mia Isabella, and I really dislike the double -a endings.
Are you pronouncing it Nev-ee-ah or Ne-vay?

No. 43?! That's upsetting
Depressing, to say the least.
Yeah...it's rather depressing.
