[Opinions] Helen
I'm falling for Helen today :) WDYT? My top girls name right now is Joanna, and I was just thinking how wonderfully Helen and Joanna would go together. For fun I made some combos and made Helen Zinovia. I don't know if I'd actually consider it in real life but I think serious Helen deserves a fun mn, so if you could just go crazy for me and suggest Helen combos then I'd appreciate it a lot!TIA

I love the name, its classical and easy-to-say. Unfortunately my old boss who was not that nice was a Helen, and i associate the name with her now!!

Helen is very pretty. It's got great history and has spunk to it. Helen and Joanna fit, though with Helen's class, I'd go with an equally classy middle name. Zinovia is NMSAA. I also really like Ellen . . . good associations and a great name.I'd suggest something like
Helen Alexandra
Helen Anastasia
Helen Beatrice
Helen Catherine/ Katharine
Helen Dorothea
Helen Edith
Helen Elizabeth
Helen Esther
Helen Gertrude
Helen Marguerite
Helen Maria
Helen Millicent
Helen Rebecca
Helen SusannahHope they don't sound too . . . dated, I used favorites of mine. :-)

No! They don't sound dated at all, lovely classics all of them :)Helen Edith is sooo sweet, but I think my favourite of all of them is Helen Marguerite which has oodles of class, but without being snobby IMO. Thanks :)

Glad you liked them!Marguerite has always been a favorite of mine. :-D

It's a gorgeous, gorgeous name. Here's an attempt at "fun" mns:Helen Scarlet
Helen Zelda
Helen Luciana
Helen Melissa
Helen Rowena

Helen Zelda! That's beautiful. But I have to say Helen Rowena is down right gorgeous. She just gives off this amazing strong feminine image. I really should add Rowena to my PNL :)

Thanks :-) I'm a huge Rowena fan and I think it deserves to be better-known, even though I wouldn't want it to become too popular either.

Ellen is obviously a much better name LOL (I take any chance I get to mention Ellen) and Ellen Zinovia is a great combo imo. Ellen and Joana is a cute sibset.
Enough about Ellen. Helen Zinovia is pretty too but nmsaa but Joana and Helen are great together.ETA: spelling

I love Ellenand I would love for you to use it :) I'm just feeling Helen a bit more today, but if future SO loves Ellen more than Helen I wouldn't have a problem with that - it's a beautiful name.

Helen and Joanna do complement each other well. Though, I find Zinovia irksome. Helen Amelia
Helen Fiona
Helen Isabel
Helen Olivia
Helen Sophia
Helen Susannah

All of them are nice, strong and classic. I really like Helen Susannah.

I think that Helen and Joanna make a great combo. They remind me of each other and sound a teeny bit similar, but they're a great pair. Do you pronounce Joanna jo-AHNA or jo-ANNA? I've heard both, and like jo-AHNA, especially.Helen Sapphira
Helen Persephone
Helen Amara
Helen Xaviera
Helen Josephine
Helen Josefina
Helen Amedea
Helen Allegra(edited to correct spelling)

I say jo-ANNA personally.Ooh, you've made such lovely combos :) Helen Josephine is lovely and a special mention has to go to Helen Persephone which gives off very strong mythological vibes. Thanks!

Glad you like!Helen is my grandmother, and her mother was Josephine, so that one is special indeed.

I prefer Elleni from Hellen!
Elleni Rebecca
Elleni Tanya

Elleni is cute, but I love the deep history that comes with Helen
vote up1
You mean Hellen of Troy?
Hellen of Troy is a Greek myth and Elleni is the greek variant of Helen...

I mean all the famous bearers, there's so many and I can't think of any bearers named Elleni. Helen brings to mind strong women such as Helen Keller, saints, writers, etc. Not just the woman from the myth. Elleni just doesn't bring about that deep historical association. I am not saying it isn't a legit Greek name with history of it's own - it just doesn't give those images to me.
