I do know a woman named Dale, and as far as I know she's fine with her name. My big problem is the association with Chip and Dale. Yes, the chipmunks, but also the male strippers lol. It just doesn't do it for me.

I like Dale but I think it would be better on a guy - it's a little too masculine for a girl.

Dale on a man sounds like the epitome of hick to me. Dale on a woman just sounds tired and limp.

Theres also Dayle Hinman, who is a criminologist. Shes got a show on TruTV so I automatically associate it with her. It also reminds me of Dale Earnhart the NASCAR racer (both Sr. & Jr. though I grew up being a Sr. fan).

It's all right, I don't have a really strong feeling one way or another about it. It is pretty dated. Dated on both sexes, actually. I've known two female Dales (one is actually a Dail) and both their middle names were Ann. They both went by Dale ANn.

I really dislike it for a girl. I associate it with Dale from "King of the Hill", so I find it really masculine and really redneck. Plus I've known lots of boys named Dale or with the MN Dale. But if it was used for a girl, I'd much rather see it as a MN (or a NN). Sorry, I can't really think of any good combos.
