I recently saw a male with the name Lindsay, and was surprised to see that it was also a male name. So WDYT? In your eyes is Lindsay a male or female name? I've always liked the name and now think that it would look nice on either, though only as a mn on a boy. Then again I also see Alexis as a strictly boy name, but that's because in France, it is a strictly male name. Any input??

I prefer Lindsey on a boy. That spelling is the only spelling I like though.

The first Lindsey I ever knew was a man; he'd be about 50 years old now.

I tend to think of Lindsay as feminine and Lindsey as masculine, but I've known male Lindsays and female Lindseys, so maybe the spelling doesn't matter anymore.

I think Lindsay is a girls name but still... Alexis is a name that in my opinion can work for a boy or a girl.

Personally I prefer Lindsay on a boy (same with Alexis, like you mentioned).

I prefer it for a girl, but I have seen it for a boy too, my grandfather's brother is named Lindsay (my grandfather is named Leslie)

Entirely female ...

But it was one of the most popular girls' names in my school. I know at least 20 female Lindsey's. So in my book, it's as established for girls, as John is for boys.

Lindsay is a male name that switched over to a female name.

I like Lindsay only for a girl, although I prefer the sp. Lyndsey or Lynsey. I just don't see it as a guy's name although I know that it is.
