[Opinions] Kay for a boy
Wdyto Kay (b)? I dislike it on a girl because my Papa's MN is Kay and that's what everyone calls him. So I grew up hearing Kay used for a man. So wdyt of Kay for a boy? Do you like it as a FN or MN? Thanks! :)

My preferred spelling is Kaye (as in Danny), and as a middle name--and yes, I like it for a boy. I think it'd work best as either a nickname or a middle name, personally. I wish I could say that, say, a Kay Gregory Jurek would work out just fine, but I'm afraid that enough people would see it akin to naming a boy Sue that it wouldn't be worth it. D:Array

I think that Kay on a girl is only for nn.

It's very handsome for a boy. I'm thinking about using it myself.

I see it only as a girl's name and just can't picture it on a boy (with all due respect to your Papa). But now that I think of it, I had a friend in high school whose mother married a man whose last name began with a K. My friend and her brothers started out calling him Mr. His-Full-Last-Name-That-Began-With-a-K, then shortened it to Mr. K., and then finally began calling him just K. So maybe it shouldn't seem so feminine to me. But it still does.
Kay seems like a nickname for Katherine to me, though, not a full name.

I don't like Kay on a boy. In fact, I'm not too fond of Kay period. What about Kai?

I love Kay for a boy no ideas on MN or FN though I just woke up, LOL

It comes across as strongly feminine to me (I've never heard it used on a man). I'd recommend it as a middle name, if you wanted to use it on a boy.

I love it on a girl, if using it on a boy then only as a mn, I'd say.S xx

Interesting! Makes me think immediately of Sir Kay from the Excalibur legend. I have a weakness for very short boy's names. I also think it works well for a boy, either FN or MN.
