I'm undecided on whether or not I like it--the GARRRR throws me off, but the image it evokes makes me like it, on the other hand.

Despite the "garrrr" in the name, I think of it as feminine. (Because I hear "garnet" and think of a pretty stone, and pretty=girl.) :)

It reminds me of that Jacqueline Wilson book .. something about twins called Ruby and Garnet

I think it's nice .. but kinda reminds me of the word Barnet

I read a children's book some years back, in which the young heroine is named Garnet. Goodness knows why it's usually a male name, and Ruby is female--both red stones! i like it for a girl.
Why are girls named Crystal, but almost never Diamond?
