(And that Iraq is closed to adoption because of war- but this is pretend so we can pretend that it is).It has been two years since we adopted Gwen. She had a hard time adjusting to us for a long time and we sent her to therapy to help her. She has been on anti-depressants and with those and with the help of her adoring big sister Anika, Gwen has changed into a completey different little girl. Gwen loves the arts and crafts and has been doing quite well in school. She starting Guides this year and loves earning the badges for it. Anika and her attend at the same time- though in different groups. Gwen and I have bonded quite a lot too- we are from the same home area and she loves to hear about stories of when I was a kid growing up there. We have also visited her home and my family's homes on vacations because my family still lives in the town I grew up.Aziza and Alina have adjusted rather well. They didn't speak any English when they first came but have been learning really quickly! We were quite impressed with them! Neither have started school yet because they are still learning the language. They will both start this coming fall- we believe it is the best to keep them together because they are so attatched to each other and are both on the same page in intellegence! The girls love our dogs- adore them! They can run after them for hours- and they do! Thanks for the children!
