[Games] Re: Tiff107's adoption agency
in reply to a message by tiff107
Well- I'm changing where Adelina and Kaede are adopted from because they are not poverty stricken or countries having had recent tragedy. So then Adelina is now going to be adopted from Brazil (Spanish influence great on the country) and Kaede is going to be adopted from Vietnam (Asian country- not China cause you are unlikely to adopt a boy from China unless he is disabled). I'm a realist, sorry.

Over the last four years, our family has grown by four- all four through adoption.
Our first adoption was a 11-year-old girl from Brazil, Adelina Charo. Addy, as we have come to call her, had no problem adjusting with us and jumped right into being part of our family. Her hardest problem was learning English. Having had just a little knowledge of us, it took her two years to be able to participate in mainstrem classes full time. Now, she has been catching up with her classmates. She is charming and has become quite popular in her school. She is on the cheerleading team for the schools American Football team and has taken dance, with Anika and now recently Kenya. She even has a boyfriend now! Christopher was a bit reluctant to allow her to start dating, but he gave in! Dads!
We next adopted an English boy Ashton who we met through Damian's football team. Damian and him were great friends and when we found out that he was living at the group home having no parents, we looked them up and went through the process of adopting him. Like Addy, he had no problem becoming part of our family. (It was especially helpful because he had already known us for some time). I do have to mention, however, that Ashton and Addy often get in fights- the two are horrible together! I suppose, they're exactly like sister and brother in this respect!
After adopting two older children, we had a family meeting and decided that we wanted to adopt a younger child- in particularily, an infant. So with the help of our adoption agency, we found a little Vietnamese baby boy- Kaede, who we renamed Kaden. Kaden is a beautiful baby boy and has brightened up our lives so much. He is now 1.5 and can talk in simple sentenses- we're all very impressed! Kaden loves to run! Loves it! He can run around the house for hours and even more loves to run after our dogs!
Our most recent adoption was our daughter Kenya, who we renamed from Kanyin. She just recently lost her parents to riots in Kenya. When we adopted her earlier this year, she said Kenya was her name- so we renamed her this! Kenya still doesn't speak English yet other than just a few words, but we're helping her. Kenya is very shy compared to our other crazy kids, but its been a nice balance. Kenya enjoys helping me with Kaden and loves to play with the dogs- I think it is easier for her to focus on the creatures that don't speak to her constantly in a language she doesn't understand! Kenya has also taken up dance with her older sisters and she quite enjoys it- she watches and repeats what others do rather than listening to instructions and then doing it.
Thanks for the kids!
